Dating back 2000 years to Southern China, dragon boating is one of the oldest sports in the world, traditionally heralding the beginning of Spring.

So what better way to mark the first week of Brisbane’s Spring than through this spectacular sport, where the Brisbane River will be alive with the colour and motion of the impressive dragon boats. 

Crews will race in brightly coloured boats, for the length of the 250 metre course. First competing in a series of heats, the crews who make it to the finals will race as hard as they can in an attempt to be crowned RiverDragon royalty.
