Presented by Riverfestival in association with Artworkers Alliance
The process of creating an artist book is much like the process for creating and developing a festival. Collecting. Layering. Storytelling. And ever-evolving.
Drawing inspiration from the environment of his home town, Brisbane, Jonathon Oxlade’s artist books are imaginative and playful; a collection of memories, observations and souvenirs of a life in a growing city.
This exhibition features Jonathon’s quirky visual memoirs, both pre-existing and specially commissioned by the festival and complemented by new poems by Brisbane poet Luke Beesley.
Come and experience for yourself the visual inspiration for this year’s festival program. Look deeper, uncover the connections and discover your own story.
